The Top 5 Reasons Why You Aren’t Reaching Your Goals. Learn to Create a Stellar ACTION PLAN and Be the One to Actualize Your Dreams Today!

Have you been having a hard time getting the things you want out of life? Do you feel stuck and have no clue how to get from point a to point b?

Ask yourself this…

What plan have you crafted to take you to where you want to be? What have you been doing that is above and beyond to pull yourself from where you are?

It can feel like an uphill battle sometimes. Trying to change your life, follow your ambitions, or even do something that will take you out of your comfort zone can be a daunting experience. A primary thing that helps when the going gets tough is a clear ACTION PLAN.

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” —Pablo Picasso

We can’t just talk about what we want, dream about what we want, think about what we want and expect it to happen with just thoughts and hopes alone. The Law of Attraction is powerful but doesn’t exactly work like that. We have to put some sort of energy out in the world to draw our desires to us. We need to do some work and create some sort of plan. And the bigger the dream the harder we have to work for it.

If you have ordinary dreams you need only do ordinary things. If you have extraordinary dreams you need to do extraordinary things.

First things first, we need to discuss what not to do.

These are the top 5 reasons why you are not reaching your goals. These are the things you will absolutely need to ditch in the New Year to be successful. These thought patterns will not help you reach your goals. Let’s get rid of these make space for the things that will bring us closer to what we want.

  1. ENTITLEMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Get rid of entitlement and expecting things to drop in your lap.

  1. INATTENTIVENESS AND INDECISIVENESS

Reduce your failure to be intentional. Learn how to have laser focus on the things you want

  1. INGRATITUDE AND UNGRATEFULNESS

Get rid of the lack of gratitude for what you already have. It only brings bad juju.

  1. ARROGANCE

Do not forget to have some humility and realize nothing is promised

  1. DEMEANING OR NEGATIVE SELF TALK

Cut yourself some slack and give yourself some grace for what you’ve done so far

What to do to be a Goal Slayer!

Your steps to creating a stellar ACTION PLAN that works.

Below I have listed what you should do to align yourself to your goals and 5 tips to create the 5 star action plan you need to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

1 The Most important thing to your action plan is to “reverse engineer” or work to backwards:

You may not even know the first thing that is need to accomplish this goal. You may have no clue where to start.

***Here is the key –start with the big picture and work backwards***

Figure out what the last thing is that needs to be done and then figure out what needs to be done before that, and before that, and before that – all the way up to what you can do today. This will essentially create your road map to success.

2 Chunk it down

When you have big goals they can be very scary and intimidating. Your reverse engineered road map may have a 10 year timeline – and that is ok. Do not get overwhelmed. Instead just break it down even more into manageable chunks. Smaller bits. Tiny bites.

Think of it like this. This is something that may be completely foreign to you. Allow yourself some leniency as you figure it out and go forward.  Do what you can today and keep going.

3 Expect to fail but fail forward.

Give yourself time and don’t expect perfection now. Again, give yourself some leniency. Be kind to yourself if you struggle. As long as you are learning, you are growing and gaining invaluable experience.

The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
Randy Pausch, The Last Lecture

4 Try to do the hardest part first.

Defeat procrastination by having the plan to do the hard, actionable things first.

Having that sense of accomplishment by getting over the biggest hill first will give you so much momentum for accomplishing the smaller things. You feel like “of course I can do that, I did all of this before I got here”

5 Keep it at the forefront of your brain.

Remind yourself – don’t fall off. Stay focused.

Keep a visual or a journal around.

Have a partner check on you.

Don’t let yourself forget and don’t let yourself get discouraged.

Now that we’ve gone through all of the things we need all there is left is to actually do it.

Get yourself a cute binder, or a poster and sit down and create your plan. That’s right. Mark some time off in your calendar to focus on this.

We can talk all day long about all the things we want in this life but it will do us no good if we are not actively bringing those things forth. We can manifest and use visualizations for a lifetime but still not see results. We can wish and dream but what is the point if we are not working towards those things.

When you think about people like Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, Mohammed Ali, or even Kevin Hart (insert your particular hero), do you think you have put in the same type of effort that they have to change your life?

You may be going hard, but can you go harder? You may be pushing yourself, but can you go further?

Create your plan and stick with it. I know you can do it.

Stretch yourself and flourish and be great.

-click [here] to learn how to cultivate your effective personal vision and create a stellar vision board to match-

How many times have you started something and haven’t finished it? How many times have you been excited about a new project and weeks later that project was distant memory?  I know I have so many unfinished projects that have become coasters and dust collectors. It’s sad but is an all too real fact of life. Sometimes we get too busy or distracted but if we want to make any real progress something has got to change. Whether it’s because of the inevitable distractions of life, losing enthusiasm or motivation, or any other reason, this year we are eliminating excuses and finishing what we started!

“Whatever it takes to finish things, finish. You will learn more from a glorious failure than you ever will from something you never finished.” ― Neil Gaiman

Below I have cataloged 5 tips to slaying your goals and staying on top of them, even with a busy schedule, low motivation or a loss of interest. These tips are sure to get you started on your path, despite any excuse, to becoming a Goal Slayer.

  1. Keep Goal-minded people around you

It is a fact that you become like the 5 people you spend the most time with. Have you assessed the people you keep around? Do they support your vision and goals? Do they resemble the person you want grow into?

  1. Push yourself harder

Chances are your aren’t going as hard for your goals as you think. Ask yourself “what if?”

What if you went harder for your goals? What if you went out of a ledge for what you believed in? What if you fail…but then what if you succeed? Remember that you have so much power within you, just waiting to be tapped into.

  1. Forget waiting for motivation

The feeling of being motivated is just that, a feeling, a mood. Feelings come and go and can change in an instant. The real path to finishing a task is to do it even when you don’t feel motivated.

Accomplishing your goals doesn’t work if you act solely when that feeling of being inspired or motivated hits.  Being a goal slayer is about looking at the big picture, looking at the things you want to accomplish, and grinding no matter what. We don’t always have the luxury of acting only when we feel motivated. We can always do more, right here, right now.

  1. Create a habit.

An integral part of reaching the finish line is to create the habit. Create consistency. These easy ideas can help create the regularity and help keep you accountable.

Get an exceptional accountability partner

Set an alarm or a daily reminder

Keep a journal of the things you did daily to get you closer

Create consequences if you don’t reach a milestone

  1. Most important point – The action plan

Ok guys, this is essential. We can’t just talk about what we want, dream about what we want, think about what we want and expect it to happen with just thoughts alone. The Law of Attraction is powerful but doesn’t exactly work like that. We have to put some sort of energy out in the world to draw our desires to us. We need to do some work and create some sort of plan. That will increase your ability to slay that goal exponentially. We will continue to speak on creating an inspiring action plan to solidify your position as a Goal Slayer to come.

With these 5 tips I am confident that you will be well on your way to changing the bad habits and creating strong follow through for the new year, new Y.O.U.! Your Truth, Optimism, and Understanding.

Don’t let a busy schedule prevent you from self-care: 5 affirmation you can practice anywhere.

Let’s be honest, there are those times when you don’t have the time to focus on yourself, or you have absolutely no desire to repeat affirmations to yourself. I have definitely been there. Some days all I can do after work is simply crawl into bed and go to sleep, mentally and physically exhausted from the day. Then there are times when I’m feeling low and I know I’ve missed that valuable time to maintain mental clarity and mindfulness. At this point my body craves that quiet time and that’s I know I’ve gone too long without it. Practicing mindfulness is like exercising a muscle. You have to maintain it and keep the habit up to maintain the results of all your hard work.

So when I force myself to make the time to get back into my practice (Typically when I can’t seem to get out of a funk) it has helped to play a quick video and hear a different, positive voice. That’s when I will listen to the affirmations.

Listening to the words helps pull me out of the spiral and allows me to focus on something other than the voice that’s going round and round in my head. And just like listening to music, the words get into your subconscious and become like second nature.

Ray Davis from the AffirmationsSpot.com says:

“Pretty soon you’ll find yourself saying the positive words to an affirmation when a negative situation arises because, like the song, you have unconsciously absorbed it. Unlike the song, though, it brings real benefit to your life.”

Tip: try recording your own affirmations and listen to them on your time. That way they can apply directly to what you’re working on in your life.

5 Day Affirmations Challenge

Okay Lets take the challenge!!

As discussed in the Affirmation Quickie Guide, affirmations are a priceless tool to building self love and confidence. They have had a big impact on my life and I want you all to experience what I have. So I have created a challenge for you to test them out for yourselves.

Below I’ve listed 3 affirmations per day for you to repeat to yourself in the morning and before bed – try to repeat it to yourself as many times in the middle of the day as possible too. If you have set your own intentions- feel free to replace them with your own positive affirmations.

Tip: Try setting an alarm to remind yourself to say your affirmations. For some, writing the affirmations out help them get it in their subconscious. You can also have post-its or note cards with you as a reminder. Visual cues are great ways to stimulate your memory and prep yourself.

The affirmations below contain statements dealing with themes such as Intentions, Self-esteem/Self-love, Ambition, and Worry.

How to:

Take a moment get centered and become aware of your body. Breathe in to the count of 4 and out for the count of 5. Repeat the affirmations slowly 3 times and really feel the words; bring them into your body and mind. After you’ve completed them continue with your day, setting positive intentions and repeat them at night.

DAY ONE:

I am fully present in this moment.

I go out into the world and make a positive impact just by being me

I am powerful and unstoppable

DAY TWO:

I spread love and receive love

I will love myself even if I make a mistake.

Today I am overjoyed in who I am

DAY THREE:

I am the master of my own thoughts.

I accept myself for who I am

I will be good to myself from this moment on.

DAY FOUR:

My time here is valuable and I am determined to get all I can out of it

I am a vibrational match for all I desire

I am fearless therefore limitless

DAY FIVE!!!

I am proud of my commitment to myself

I am optimistic hopeful and confident

I am unstoppable.

At the end of the five days take note of how you feel and continue to used them. Remember that just completing the challenge is enough to be proud of. You are taking steps toward living your best life. I hope these affirmations speak to you and give you some kind of inspiration and starting point.

Write in the comments how they have worked for you and any new experiences you encountered. I’m very interested to read them.

Your Quickie Affirmations Guide – What They Are and What They Do

As you know this blog is Bad Bitch Affirmations – a place where baddies, muses, queens, boss babes, and anyone in-between can get info on living their best, healthiest, most self-aware, and loving lives. It is my goal to fill women with the tools, thought processes, guides and knowledge to help them get what they want out of life. Affirmations help tremendously with that.

But what is an affirmation?

An affirmation is a statement or phrase that is proclaiming, declaring, and affirming. Always positive, affirmations, when repeated have a way of changing thought processes and changing dispositions.  They can also become part of your identity.

Identity statements are powerful motivators for self-change. Using emotional words in affirmations is important, because of the deep association we have between emotion words and somatic experiences.

How will this help me?

By using affirmations, you are tapping into your subconscious and reprogramming those bad habits. For instance, let’s say you have a habit of automatically thinking the worst when you walk into a room full of people you don’t know. You might begin to feel self-conscious, wonder why everyone is staring, start to think there must be something wrong, start to feel stupid, feel like you don’t belong, or want to run and hide.

With positive affirmations, you will be able to talk yourself out of a negative spiral by saying, “I am okay. I am beautiful and interesting. I walk into a room and they look in awe. I am full of wonderful traits that the world is waiting to see.”

You can do it immediately, when you feel yourself getting anxious, or you can do it in preparation for a big moment. With repeating these sentiments to yourself over and over, you will reprogram your brain to automatically go to that positive, uplifting space, instead of the negative space.

When we feel positively, our lives reflect that. But when we feel low or negative we have the tendencies to engage in negative, self-defeating behaviors, which snowball into negative self-talk, anxiety, unworthiness, jealousy, fear, worry, illness, and suffering.

Even if you don’t believe the affirmations now, when you repeat them to yourself and act as if they are true, you will start to engage in activities associated with the positive affirmations, that then produce the positive outcomes, and then they do become true.

**Reminder: Affirmations need to be met with an open mind, intentions, and action. Because realistically – you can say whatever you want but if you do not do something different you will always get the same results. If you want to change, do your affirmations and believe them, then act on them.

I know it’s kind of a lot. But its life changing stuff.

So how do I do it?

Set the intentions: Figure out what you want to work on. Do you want to feel better about yourself? Relieve anxiety? Motivate yourself? Manage stress? There are many guided meditations and affirmations out there that can give you a boost to start your day, or a smooth ride to work.

Get ready: You can sit and relax or look in the mirror, or whatever is comfortable for you. Take a moment get centered and become aware of your body. Breathe in to the count of 4 and out for the count of 5.

As you exhale, release all the tension and other thoughts, worries or distractions and focus on your breath.

Repeat your affirmations slowly 3 times and really feel the words, bring them into your body and mind. Continue to repeat them to yourself throughout the day as many times as possible. Become aware of your mental states and repeat as needed.

Here are 5 affirmations to practice today.
